fits and starts
I seem to start posts to the blog, and then not finish them. Unfortunately this is my modus operandi often. I really should get that looked at.
Yesterday was quite the full day. I drove into Boston and spent a couple of hours volunteering at the Boston Knitout and Crochet, too 2005 at the Common. This was great fun. I was helping out with the fashion show and the show and share, a more informal sharing of projects. Everyone I met was so nice and I learned a lot, too.
Then, on a lark, I headed to Fenway, where the Red Sox were playing their final game of the regular season against the Yankees. Go Yanks. I have a friend who works in the area. He had mentioned that if I ever wanted to go to a game, he could get me in. So I got to watch about 6 innings of baseball. Curt Schilling was pitching. A-Rod was in the game, but not my favorite Derek Jeter. Sigh. The Yanks couldn't get a hit off of Schilling; I left in the 7 inning with the score 7-1 infavor of the RS. They ultimately won 10-1. Here's a picture of the famed Green Monster in left field.
Then I walked the city, up and down. From Fenway back to the Financial District, where I had parked, by way of the Pru and the Hancock Towers. It was such a beautiful day - mild, 70 F, clear skies - for the first weekend in October absolutely brilliant. Too nice to go underground and take the T.
My feet did take a beating with all of the walking. When I left the house I hadn't planned on all that and I wore my clogs. Great support for standing but not so good for extensive city walking.
I got home and continued to work on my projects for my new niece. I now have a deadline - mom and I will ship the box this weekend. I only hope I can get everythiing done this week. only have two hands...
Once the box of goodies has been received, I will post pictures.
